To be admitted to the final PhD exam, students must send the following documents (.pdf format) to the coordinator (prof. Gabriella Bottini and in copy to: martina.gandola@unipv.it):
1. Copy of the thesis in English.
2. Summary of the thesis in English.
3. Report, written personally and signed by the tutor, about the activities carried out during the PhD course in English (summary of the 3 years of the PhD).
4. List of publications.
5. Possible request for authorization to embargo for the publication of the thesis
The report (document 3) covers the three years of the PhD course, and it must be accompanied by all supporting documentation (e.g. certificates of attendance at courses and conferences, publications, awards, etc.).
Once the theses have been evaluated, the Academic Board will decide on the admission of the candidates to the final exam and at the same time will send to the PHD students the names of the two reviewers to whom the thesis must be sent by the first of October.
The two reviewers will be in charge of expressing a written judgment on the thesis, proposing admission to the public discussion or postponing the public debate for a period not exceeding six months. After this period, the thesis will be admitted to the public defence in any case, accompanied by a new written opinion from the same reviewer, rendered within 20 days of receipt of the corrected thesis and in light of any corrections or additions made.
